Assistant to Restaurant Owner & GM

Why aren’t there any jobs that can pay well which don’t require 30 years experience or a doctorate degree? Well look no further!

The Mad Italian is a single location, locally owned and operated restaurant established in 2020. Going into it’s fifth year of business, the Mad Italian has seen consistent increase in volume, both in food and alcohol. Our model is simple… locally sourced ingredients on hand made dough made in store, paired with locally produced beers… and every week, local musicians!

The Mad Italian’s core values are Customer Centricity, Continual Improvement, and Servant Leadership. This means we make decisions based on customer testing instead of our own opinions, we don’t assume our policies or systems can’t be improved, and there’s no task too low for anyone. (The owner cleans toilets and dishes)

The Assistant to the Restaurant Owner / GM will report to and learn directly from the owner. The ideal candidate will even have strengths that compliment the Owner / GM, like managing and improving the skills of team members, and knowing the difference between reels, posts, walls and highlights.

The Mad Italian’s proven successful model is one that can grow. The Assistant to the Restaurant Owner will in essence help operate the restaurant in such a way that the Owner / GM can open a new location because he is able to trust the skills, work ethic, and competency of the Assistant.

The successful candidate will have a wide range of skills and traits; a strong ethical character, awareness, exceptional ability to multitask, problem solving, have a basic understanding of social media, and ability with a knife… further, and perhaps most important, a genuine desire to improve and win! This person may not exist… but perhaps you should apply anyways.

It is estimated that your time will be spent as follows (at least until we become a multi-national conglomerate):

Making amazing pizzas, drinks & serving them to guests… 50%
Preparing ingredients (cutting, cooking, etc,.)… 20%
Ordering food products, local beers and wines, etc., 10%
Training, reviews, interviews… 10%
Cleaning, sometimes very gross things… 10%

The ideal candidate can work during the days, or the occasional late night. They can work 8-10 hours without having to habitually leave for alternative commitments such as pets, taxi’ing friends or children, etc,. We love accommodating personal lives, unfortunately however, we can’t risk the existence of the business or the jobs it provides because you want to walk your poodle, because you may have a mild case of the sniffles or because of you need to work on your tan.

Here’s the kicker… no experience necessary and we’ll start compensation at $25 per hour. The successfully candidate will prove themselves first and then receive immediate opportunities for additional compensation directly related to value and performance… which in theory is almost unlimited.

At times this job is difficult, other times it’s amazing, but most of the time it’s genuinely fulfilling. It will challenge you, it will grow your skills, it will test you.
